Ode to Peeps

Peeps, Peeps, everywhere I see Peeps
At work, at home, even in my sleep
Pink, yellow, white and blue
I would like to give some Peeps to you.

One day I worked for a man named Russie
he was my boss and he wasn't too fussy
He opened his desk drawer one day
And lo and behold sat Peeps in their tray

He said that he bought them two years before
I wanted to scream and run for the door
But then I realized that Peeps have a power
To never go stale, never go sour

I adopted the Peeps from that moment on
They came home with me when Russie got a new job
Two years followed and then suddenly one day
The Peeps were falling right out of their tray

Sugar flew out, all over my floor
I exclaimed "that's it," "forget it," "no more!"
The Peeps were doomed whether they liked it or not
Life in a garbage bag is what they got

I know the Peeps are living somewhere
Maybe in a pile of old underwear
But they did not die, I know that for sure
Peeps are immortal, right down to the core

Peeps, Peeps, everywhere I see Peeps
I do not like when they are stuck in my teeth
